It’s been a good 20 years I haven’t sat in front of TV cartoons first thing in the morning. Doing so with the author himself was like a dream come true. In addition to the great success of his comic book character Dickie, Pieter De Poortere happens to be a very insightful person I could ask about black humour, visual storytelling, the artist’s take on suffering and social issues.
