Following is a conversation with architect Takashi Yanai. Takashi is a returning CXD guest with a really interesting architectural philosophy. I am going to let him explain it but we sat down to discuss the concept of “view” as it relates to architecture and design. Yanai is the Residential Studio Director at Ehrlich, Yanai, Rhee, Chaney Architects where he has held this position since 2004. He is a nationally and internationally celebrated architect who lectures, travels and is an avid photographer. This brings us to the subject at hand. Yanai takes a unique approach to the concept of “view” and applies it to his architectural approach.
