Past testing has shown that people have a tendency to look at the left side of a person's face first when looking at them. It's unconscious, but it happens. Experiments have shown that dogs do the same thing. The left side of the face, when looking at a person apparently shows more about where a person's emotions are at at the time. Who would have thought that?

In past days we may have thought we, the human species, were closest in behavior to the chimp. But after reading Brian's book I think dogs are right up there. (I've always thought that but now there is proof)
