Steven Haley is the president and founder of the Brain Science Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to finding a cure for primary brain tumors as well as advancing the understanding of brain function as it relates to these tumors. The foundation actively funds research, new diagnostic methods and treatments –– a mission close to Steven's heart, as he is a brain tumor survivor. Steven is also a renowned business leader, having spent 30+ years in senior management positions in high technology industries with organizations including Juniper, Cisco Systems, StrataCom and Bytex.
In today’s episode, Shay Beider welcomes Steven to share how a health scare he experienced became the catalyst for the Brain Science Foundation and how his passions have increasingly turned toward healthcare and medicine. Steven shares memories from his time as a patient, his views on the vital relationship between technology and medicine, and the direction that he would like to see healthcare head towards.
