Dr. Michelle Loy, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified physician who received her doctorate in medicine from Weill Cornell Medical College and completed her integrative medicine fellowship from Columbia University/Stamford Hospital. She has a long standing interest in integrative medicine, and is interested in the use of nutrition, movement and mind-body lifestyle medicine to prevent and manage chronic illnesses. In recent years, she has pursued additional training in human nutrition, medical hypnosis, mind body stress reduction, and yoga teacher certification for medical conditions.

In today’s episode, Shay Beider welcomes Dr. Loy to talk about how the seeds of integrative medicine were sown into her before she was born and how that has influenced her work today. They discuss how listening to a patient’s story and the narrative surrounding their illness is critically important. Michelle also shares her unique experiences and challenges treating patients during the pandemic, and offers advice on how to best prepare your body to combat COVID-19.
