Gangs, terrorists, child rapists, and cannibals, oh my! How hard is it for Republicans to engage in a budget fight over the invasion this week? I go through the central talking points a sane party would harness into a shutdown fight. We are bringing in millions of people from the countries that pose the greatest strategic threat to our neighborhoods. This is how you win back the suburban vote. Yet it’s all about the soap opera and distractions. Don’t think things are much better in red states. We’re joined today by Oklahoma state Senator Nathan Dahm, who is filibustering the state budget because the GOP leaders in the legislature refuse to hold hearings on worthwhile legislation. He also explains some of his ideas to rein in the state bureaucracies and to protect the citizens from federal tyranny. Dahm also touts his signature bill to end the practice of anchor babies in red states.
