Next Episode: Episode 2: Nick Flynn

In this episode, poet David Trinidad discusses collecting vintage Barbies and Vera scarves and how images of collecting and the process of collecting have affected his poems and poetics.

A native of Los Angeles, David Trinidad has written numerous books of poetry, the most recent being Notes on a Past Life, published by BlazeVOX books. His work is intimate, filled with confessional outpourings, while drawing on sparkling references to television, Hollywood and kitsch. David lives in Chicago, and teaches at Columbia College, where he co-founded the literary journal Court Green. James Schuyler has described his work as “[turning] the paste jewels of pop art into the real thing.”
