Comic Pros & Cons Episode 008: Great Lakes Comic Con

In this episode, Derek kicks off the 2016 Convention Season with a small show in Monroe, Michigan: Great Lakes Comic Con!

Derek starts off by chatting with Travis McIntire, the bearded leader of Source Point Press. The guys discuss what it’s like to be a growing independent publisher, editing, writing, and some suggestions for creators that are pitching their work.

After that, the conversation moves to none other than one of the most talked about newcomers on the indie scene and another Source Point Press contributor, Ms. Kasey Pierce! Her first comic book, Norah, just finished its wonderfully successful Kickstarter, and is set to be debuted later this month.

Finally, Derek wraps it up with another self published creator, Brian Lau. Brian is the man behind the book Staunch Ambition, a beautiful sci-fi book that’s sure to grab the attention of any fan of the genre and beyond.
