Sláinte or something, you dark beer loving spring drinkers. The boys are ready to rate Emerald Isle beers so you know what you must drink when wearing silly slogan-ed green tees to avoid getting pinched. That’s right, we review all three types of proper Irish black gold:  Guinness stout. And after we down a few, we riff on which comics characters are shameless stereotyped Leprechauns. Poor little guys. All they want to do is grant some wishes, keep their pot of gold, and hang in the ‘hood.

Brewery: St. James's Gate Brewery, Dublin, Ireland

Guinness Extra Stout
Style: Irish Dry Stout, 5.6% ABV,
First Available: 1821
Tasting Notes: Hopped, bitter chocolate woody Black Tom flavors that drive you mad for a Juggernaughtin'.
Rating: 3.6/5

Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
Style: Irish Dry Export Stout, 7.5% ABV,
First Available: 1801
Tasting Notes: Coffey, full bodied enough to let your Scottish girlfriend cut your face off and wear it without emitting your Banshee wail.
Rating: 3.7/5

Guinness Draught
Style: Irish Dry Stout, 4.2% ABV,
First Available: 1959
Tasting Notes: So slinky, smooth  you got to use a “gh” instead of an “f” and want to replace an “e” with a “y” to sing a Siryn song of Pogues lyrics.
Rating: 3.85/5
