The Gang Discusses the Best Episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.  Well, according to IMDb, anyways.  Anyone not familiar with the series may think the title is strange, but just remember that "Charlie" in the title is an adjective.

This week is Matt's pick, and along with Gus and Sam, we head over to Paddy's Pub where Charlie is forced to frantically dupe the new health inspector into thinking the bar is clean while everyone else is trying to pull off a chicken-steak-airline-miles scam.

We spend a lot of time gushing over this episodes greatest technical feat, a 10-minute long tracking shot which follows Charlie and the health inspector all over Paddy's Pub - or "Carmine's: A Place for Steaks".  It's an episode so tightly made, it makes you wonder if anything was left on the editing room floor. The TV episode, that is.  Despite our insistence, there was plenty of audio from this recording that we had to cut out.

Some lessons learned this week include: Matt realized that "Survivor" is actually not all that bad and shouldn't have been so hard on it; Gus learns that "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum is different than "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush (and we're hoping that putting it in the description gets us a few extra listens); and Sam has tried pickled eggs, which honestly wasn't that great of a help in a trying time.

There's also some second-hand electrical advice that Matt learned from his father, who is also not a licensed electrician, HBO's Succession is a different show than Apple TV+'s Severance, and It's Always Sunny is weirdly connected to both the classic (?) Super Mario Bros. movie and the upcoming new version.

If enough people listen to this episode, we just may try to make Sam TikTok famous for eating pickled eggs.  Or we'll just console ourselves by eating steaks purchased with airline miles.

Either way, grab your favourite joke stool, have a seat, and enjoy the episode.

Just don't pretend like you understand the plan, because that's going to annoy me.
