06 – Ed Husain

In this special edition of Combating Jihadist Terror, Dr Anthony Richards talks to Professor Ed Husain about his new book Among The Mosques: A Journey Across Muslim Britain. Professor Husain describes what prompted him to begin writing it and expresses his concerns about the increasing tribalisation in British society which has the capacity to lead to extremism and terrorism. He concludes by putting forward, with great passion, his theory on how, through inclusive patriotism, Britons may be able to overcome this threat to the soul of our nation. 

Professor Husain co-founded the anti-extremism think tank Quilliam and was a former Senior Advisor to Tony Blair before becoming an Adjunct Professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
