22-year-old Brandon Simmons is running for the Columbus City Schools Board of Education. We talk about him getting engaged in the political process at a young age, his experience as a student at Columbus Alternative High School, plus his work and experience as an activist after the 2016 election.


He also delves into what he’s interested in seeing improved in schools, including building maintenance, graduation rates, literacy, support for teachers and improving the culture of the board. He also talks about the set up of the board and providing a new approach, his thoughts on sample ballots, the perception of CCS and more.
