I’ve noticed that a lot of you are either looking to buy lake property or at least interested in it, so I wanted to give you a list of things to look for when buying lakefront property, specifically on Lake Murray.

The first thing to know is that most people looking on the lake want to be able to put their boats in. For that, you’ll need to have a dock, as well as a dock permit from SCE&G. There are a few minimum requirements that you’ll need to meet.

Another thing to consider is the lake depth at your dock. Can you put a boat ramp in? A floating dock? There are different options depending on your depth.

Location plays a huge factor.

Location also plays a big factor in property values out here. The properties closer to the dam (and to downtown) are typically a little bit pricier. The same thing goes for the properties with the best views. It’s all about location.

If you are curious about buying a home on Lake Murray or just have any questions about what the homes out here are like, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
