My guest today is Emily Sanders, Emily has been in the business world for 15 years. She's led numerous client-facing teams in rapid-growth environments. She's had a lot of fun throughout her career:

- Being part of the testing team for the first Kindle device

- Being part of a 6-person startup

- Building a global client management team from scratch

- Scaling people and processes at more established companies

- Currently serving as Chief of Staff (for CEO and leadership team)

Audiences can learn about concepts from her book, such as: - How to "swizzle". This is a term and concept that Emily has coined that means taking the best components of multiple items or areas and combining the best or most relevant parts into new, better material. Uniquely applied to a situation by an individual. This is out-of-the-box, creative thinking; the penultimate of resourcefulness.

How to use the "failure loop". This is a framework that turns "failure" into progress. What most people consider "failure" may be a sign of a successful person. Knowing where you are in the process and having some tools in your toolbox to keep going will help you keep moving forward (when you feel like stopping).

How to become more self-aware and a more effective communicator. Everyone sees the world through a certain "lens" - which is a set of beliefs. Sometimes, it's like a pair of contact lenses on where you don't even know you are "wearing" them. Being aware of your perspective helps you become a better leader. This also helps you "flex" your communication style to whomever you're speaking with.

- "Worth the price of admission" recruiting and hiring tips and tricks.
