In today’s episode I do a deep dive into Real Estate Agents Need to be More Truthful. While everybody talks about short form content and the reality is there are short form content that works, and some that doesn't work. There's some that is very entertainment driven. TikTok, Instagram and Facebook are here today but gone tomorrow and there's short form content just like this podcast that you are going to be impacted by and you've actually sought it out. The reason that this is so important is because as real estate agents, we love to give people information that they're not looking for. Some people aren't giving real information of what they're looking for, and I don't know if it's a fear of like wanting to make people think that the market is bad, but what we were talking about is people are scared to tell the truth in real estate, because real estate agents want everything to be perfect. They want to look like they're selling all this real estate that has no issues. And they're doing it because it's an ego driven industry where we want everything to be perfect. 

Talking about mortgages and investment property, there's a lot of information showing different data and analytics. Social media platforms are delivering facts which some of them are negative headlines and clickbait. What's the old saying, "if it's bleeding, it gets ripped" something like that, but essentially it's like you have to create negative content, negative clicks to create views, and when people are delivering these titles then they are delivering negative information behind that. Communication is great, but we need effective communication. If I was trying to attract real estate agents, what would I be doing? I should be doing super shiny super fun content on social media, probably entertainment driven to build my brand so that agents are reaching out to me because they want to work with people that look fun. And they want to work with people that have influence. It's the same thing with customers except for real estate agents. They are spending all their time on social media being entertained by other real estate agents, and they think that's what their consumers want. And when you're thinking about putting content out there, it's like everything doesn't have to be rainbows and unicorns. It has to be real because people are living in real life problems. And when you're making the scenarios so far out of reach where these people can't even relate to the content you're putting out there, they're not going to feel comfortable picking up the phone and calling you people want to know that other people are going through the same struggles as them? That's how people relate to other people.
