This is a new, unplayed Stereo/Stereo promo copy, in its original factory sleeve. This promo has an edited version (4:08) of the LP cut. Simply put, this is one of Elton's very best singles... melodic and instrumental hooks that just won't quit! The fact that it celebrates 45 rpm records is also quite endearing. :-) Note: Geffen released two promo 45s of "Sad Songs"... this one, and another that has a 4:05 edit labeled "Special Radio Mix." They both have the same catalog number.
