The Chief Operating Officer of Ennis 2040 DAC insists pressing the reset button on development plans would set the town back six or seven years.
It follows the announcement from outgoing Councillor Johnny Flynn that he's leaving the Fine Gael party, due to a lack of support from sitting Councillors over Ennis 2040 plans, which he opposes.
A new analysis carried out by Ennis 2040 DAC in conjunction with AIB found that annual spending in the county town is increasing at a slower rate than the national average.
COO of the Designated Activity Company, Kevin Corrigan believes there wouldn't be enough time to arrest the decline of spending in the town, if they went back to the drawing board.
