Additional beds for the Midwest healthcare region have been announced under the new Acute Hospital Inpatient Bed Capacity Expansion Plan 2024-2031.
The plan has been introduced in response to the ongoing Health Service Capacity Review and aims to bring the number of beds in HSE Midwest from 2 per 100,000 people to 2.7.
To discuss this further, on Friday's Morning Focus, Alan Morrissey was joined on the line by the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly.
