Dorothy Manley's collection, 'Fairy's Ground : Homely Tales', contains five stories involving a character called Fairy Cregeen. In the second tale, Joshua 'Joss' Cregeen is working for a farmer called Charley Willie, where Charlie's daughter, Alice, takes on a lot of the work.

As we move on through Bram Stoker's story, 'Dracula', Professor Van Helsing has stopped Lord Godalming and Quincey Morris from rushing out to hunt for Count Dracula as all they know is that he's on a ship and there are hundreds in the port of London. Also, the ship was just sailing out on the morning tide, so the Count has now left British shores.
