I sit down on Skype (while drinking beer from Ghost Hawk Brewing Co, of course) and talk to Joey Cox, founder and guitarist of the band Layne's Calling. We discuss the inspiration behind their song "Not Well" and how that wound up being the genesis behind the formation of the band. We also discuss how coronavirus has impacted the entertainment industry as a whole, how the cancellation of live shows serves to "level the playing field" between bigger and smaller acts, and how Joey feels about the ways the industry has tried to work around in-person performances. And of course I get his thoughts on the current state of the music industry. Podcast intro "Rock Intro 3" courtesy of audionautix.com. "Die for It" and "Not Well" both appear on Layne's Calling's self-titled EP out now through Pavement Entertainment. Both songs were included with the permission of Joey Cox.
