It's Time to Reimagine South City Park!

Three years ago, South City Park was fenced to provide security while the City designed a plan to redevelop park amenities and deal with illegal camping in the area. After some initial funding challenges, American Rescue Plan Act funds will help make it possible to unearth the potential in the hidden gem that is South City Park.

In this episode of the City of Redding Podcast, Kim Niemer, Director of Community Services, talks about the project and what features and amenities are being considered to bring out the best in the park. She also addresses the safety concerns that many community members have expressed about the homeless population in this area.  

An online community survey is open now at cityofredding.org/southcitypark. The webpage includes dates and times of three public workshops geared toward collecting community input and feedback on park amenities.
