Despite having 5% of the world’s population our country has 25% of the global prison population. Since 1970, our incarcerated population has increased 700% and there are 2.3 million Americans in prison today. We sat down with lawyers and activists Lenora Easter, Wendy Jennings and Anton Robinson to better understand mass incarceration and what they are doing to make our justice system one that better ensures fairness, promotes safety, and strengthens communities.
