It’s almost unfair for me to describe the books in this week’s list as “disappointing.” In most situations, the fault is entirely mine — I had unreasonable or inaccurate preconceptions before starting the books, and then they naturally let me down when I realized what they truly were. In any event, I did not enjoy these experiences as much as the others I have had this year. As always, your mileage may vary.
