On Liberty this week, Thursday, 17 September, we welcome Gene Tunny, Founder and Director of Adept Economics. Tunny, with co-author Ben Scott, has a forthcoming CIS paper: Rationalising Regulation: Helping the economy recover from the corona crisis.

Regulatory constraints are impeding business growth and their removal or adjustment would yield large economic benefits. The relaxation of a range of restrictions to respond to the pandemic—e.g. around supermarket delivery times and the availability of liquor for takeaway—suggests governments can move quickly to eliminate or improve regulations.

Join in the conversation live as host Salvatore Babones asks Gene what regulation is necessary to protect public health? What regulations should be lifted to assist the many struggling business owners? And what regulation amendments would have the biggest impact to the Australian economy?
