The Cinemondo furry giants take a trip into Murasaki 312 with the Galileo Seven for a look at another fun, exciting and clever episode. Kirk sends his three best friends and some expendables into an unexplored “quasar-like” nebula in a shuttlecraft where they’re pulled down into a rough landing on a planet overrun by mysterious giant, spear-wielding humanoids. Unable to communicate with the Enterprise, the intrepid seven must figure out how to fix the shuttlecraft while being constantly attacked and stalked. Meanwhile, Kirk is being forced into agreeing to leave them behind by a guy whose title is “Galactic High Commissioner” Ferris. Spock comes to terms with his inability to understand emotional humans and aliens who don’t react like machines. It’s a great look into the character dynamics and how humans and Vulcans can be dangerously at odds with each other over leadership and compassion. One of the great character-defining episodes of the series.
