This week, Todd of WSTR: Galactic Public Access returns to discuss one of the most heartful action films of the 1980s, Rambo: First Blood.

On this episode we take a look back at the film that would spark an entire trend of films that spanned more than a decade, the '80s Action Genre. In addition, we also dive into the deep themes of the film that have to do with returning veterans and that toll war has on a soldier. Out of all the Rambo films that have been created so far, this picture, that was written by Stallone himself, would be considered Oscar worthy if it was released today.

First Blood centers on John Rambo, a Vietnam veteran and Green Beret returning to America from active duty. Due to the trauma left on him from the conflict, John has trouble fitting into a society that looks down on him because of his service. He then becomes a drifter looking for his old squad-mates to reconnect. However, on his travels, John crosses paths with a bigoted cop that would later initiate a manhunt to capture Rambo.
