This is a 6 hour soundscape I worked on over the course of several weeks. I had to make sure that the nights I recorded this weren't windy or at least didn't have any gusts. I then recorded the audio using an X/Y configuration of microphones covering 120 degrees, placing the microphones in exactly the same position each night.

The next challenge was to make sure that I didn't have anything else like a spike -- either something falling, banging, or otherwise any sort of noise that might shock or startle one awake. I took out any of those pieces and made sure to blend them together so that you shouldn't hear any real gaps between the sounds of the night.

Overall, I think this came out well, it's a good mix of various cricket songs; their pitch, tempo, etc changes a little bit from night to night, and you also hear just some sounds of passing traffic in the distance, as well as the occasional train or stereo sound of a plane high up in the sky.

Hopefully, you'll bookmark this episode and use it to help you to sleep, and I hope that you're able to get some rest out there!

If you wish to download a copy of this audio for use in a project of your own, please contact me -- I don't charge, and would be honored to have it be used in any fashion that others find enjoyable.
