106 - Busy Pastor's Guide to Writing

Where do you start writing a book? The first thing is mental preparedness. Prepare your mind to take action. Make deadlines for "fluid" benchmarks.

Create time blocks. Those blocks could be 30 -60 minutes once-a-week. It could be that you get up one hour earlier everyday to have the margin to do what God has told you.

Mind mapping. Take out a sheet of paper or a white board and write down all words and phrases that come to mind, along with illustrations, stories and statistics. Each of those words or phrases could potentially be a chapter in your book.

If you did these steps, in 3 months you could make a massive dent on the creation of the content for your book. You could have all your chapters outlined. It just depends on the time you allow to work on these three things: Start, Time Block, and Mind mapping.
