Mahashivratri is the birthday of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati got married on this day. There are many stories about this day in our scriptures like Veda, Puranas.
In this story Lord Shiv teaches lessons to Brahamdev and Vishnu. They were fighting with each other on the issue that who is superior in between them.
