In this episode, my good friend, Alli Worthington, joins me to discuss her recent book, “Remaining You While Raising Them: The Secret Art of Confident Motherhood.” Alli had no intention of writing a book on motherhood, but after seeing all of the negative messages that mothers are faced with, she knew she had to write this book.

Motherhood is one of the most fulfilling yet challenging journeys a woman can embark on. It’s a twenty-four seven job that is full of constant changes, ups and downs, and endless to-do lists, yet, it comes with no handbook. While our motherly instincts sometimes kick in, many times we are out here just figuring it out as we go along. In addition, there are unrealistic expectations we are bombarded with on social media and a never-ending stream of parenting books. You can see why it’s easy to feel inadequate as a mother.

Drawing from Biblical truth, mental health professionals, and tons of research on the things that matter long-term with your kids, as well as the lessons she has learned in her own motherhood journey, she provides moms with some practical tips for navigating motherhood with confidence and intentionality.

Highlights from the Episode:

Refuting mom guilt narratives
Over functioning in motherhood
Helping our kids develop a little grit
Identifying healthy ways to self-care
