Morgan Harper Nichols is simply a force to be reckoned with. Like a quiet storm, she consistently creates content out of the overflow of her artistic gifting and her soul’s desire to serve others well. She is an original for sure and I believe there is a lot that we all can learn from her in our individual pursuits to live out our God-given unique calling.

You, my friend, are an original. However, in your journey towards living purposefully, feelings of discouragement or rejection may still arise. Often, our emotions or inner self-talk lead us to doubt our gifts and purpose in life. We live in a society that encourages us to thrive off of an audience and tempts us to be driven by virility and the demand for an encore.

Hear me and hear me well. The only true path to your personal success is to be committed to God and to His calling for your life as you stay true to your gifts, abilities, interests, and your unique nature. Nothing good comes over the long haul when you compromise for the sake of the limelight, attention, or applause. As an artist who uses her gifts to spread God’s truth, Morgan provides a great example to those of us who want to show up in the places that really matter, committed to our calling, and willing to be used by God to fulfill His purposes and plans for our life. This is my second time to have Morgan on the podcast. You may remember her from podcast episode #192. We continue the conversation today and dive a bit deeper,  tackling ideas like…

Creative loneliness
Dead-end dreams
Grieving small things
The importance of vulnerability
Choosing gifts over compromise

This podcast episode is going to bless you, whether you consider yourself a “creative” or not. Why am I so sure of that? Because who YOU are and YOUR gifts have been chosen specifically for the purpose God has for your life (Hebrews 13:21). Comprising the gift of you in this world can cause you to miss out on His plans for you and deviate from your course. You have not been called to “conform to the patterns of this world,” Romans 12:21, but to stand firm with faith in who called you. Are you struggling with where you are in your journey towards your purpose? This conversation will help. Remember, “.. he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion..” Philippians 1:6.

Highlights from Today’s Episode:

Staying faithful to your gift
Dealing with dead-end dreams
Grieving small things
Choosing gifts over compromise
Staying Committed to your calling
