Kenya says travel has been very introspective for her. She isn’t new to living and traveling abroad.
Kenya has been to 30 countries thus far. She first moved abroad to teach ESL in South Korea in 2013. Then she taught in Saudi Arabia.
The teaching job in Saudi Arabia went sour after a teaching agency pulled the rug underneath her. But she tried to make a difficult situation into a more positive one.
Now Kenya, is 100% remote, working as a content writer and an online ESL teacher while living in Colombia. She says there’s a lot of isolation with traveling solo.
She’s learned about herself, friends, and how to be in groups. Travel has helped her to develop a thicker skin. She’s learned to be okay with herself and by herself. “Solo travel is hella introspective.” She says.
