People can be motivated by all sorts of things. We can be motivated by praise or by the fear of losing praise. We can be motivated by great and noble ambitions or by ambitions that are far from noble. All human beings can be motivated. To be motivated means to be moved. It means that we have an overriding desire that will move us to persevere even when faced with overwhelming obstacles.
The beauty of the gospel is that God motivates his people by renewing their hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. God himself will move us to serve him. He will build us up to have confidence in his ways. Confidence means with faith. God will help us to have faith (confidence) to serve him more and more.
