Our story takes place 600 years before Christ. Many of the holy people are in captivity in Babylon. For Hebrew young people, this was a difficult challenge because Babylon, in biblical literature, is a metaphor for “All that Opposes the Kingdom of God”. Throughout this ordeal, the Lord is guiding them, leading them, and providing miraculous interventions so that they gain influence in the culture.
People who are faithful to the Lord have always, and will always have to make tough decisions about what elements of the culture they must resist.
