Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, March 23, 2019, the Third Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church.
Reflecting on the experience of the people of Israel in the first reading (from Year A), Fr. Ed points out that, when we consider everything God has done for us, we have a choice regarding how we respond to difficulties:
Do we respond with grateful anticipation of God's actions? Or do we engage in "ain't it awful"? We need to open ourselves to the grace of hope that He offers us. He is with us! We can trust Him!
