Sermon by Rev. Paul Lawler

Pastor Paul continues his series on Context this week as we explore Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Is the true meaning of this verse simply about achieving personal goals, or is there a deeper and more meaningful message that God wants to teach through the life of the Apostle Paul?

Paul wrote these words from a Roman prison cell, facing possible execution, and yet he expresses contentment and a reliance on Christ's strength. How can we experience a deeper revelation of Jesus for ourselves and others when we go through persecution and suffering because of Christian convictions?

Paul's contentment in difficult circumstances clarifies that it is not complacency. This verse should be understood as assurance that believers can do whatever God calls them to do, rather than using it as a blanket affirmation for personal desires. The power of Christ within believers surpasses any challenges they may face.
