Rev. David Pileggi spoke on how John the Baptist and Jesus had a different view of what Messiah should look like. Like most Second-Temple-era Jews, Jesus and John have a conversation using the language of the scriptures and speak volumes by the snippets of Bible they quote at each other. Jesus exhorts John and us to not be put off by his delaying judgment for mercy's sake.
