28 Jan 2018 - This week Deacon Aaron Eime very sensitively tackles the topic of demonology. Mark is a fast-paced gospel. When reading we should ask 1. What does this tell me about Jesus? 2. How can I be a better disciple? The first miracle in Mark is the healing of a demon possessed man in a synagogue. The community recognised the authority with which Jesus taught, finding him worth listening to. The spirit identifies Jesus as the Holy One of God. What was the purpose of Jesus meeting this demon? To make the unclean clean! To build God’s kingdom and see it advance, the man is healed. What do we learn? We learn that Jesus has authority and that he is the Lord to deliver us from evil.
