3 April 2022 - Fifth Sunday in Lent - As we approach Passover and Holy Week, Isaiah has us look back at the Exodus while also calling our attention to God's new thing. We look back not in nostalgia, says Rev. Alex Jacob, but to remember God's faithfulness, a faithfulness that we can count on going forward. We find here a tension between contentment in our circumstance and ambition for God's future. As we search our hearts for holy balance, Mary of Bethany models for us devoted, Jesus-centered worship. How pure is our motivation to follow and worship Jesus?

Readings: Isaiah 43:16-20; Psalm 126; Philippians 3:4-14; John 12:1-8
