THIS SEASON’S THEME: FEEL GOOD

Welcome to episode 011 of Choose Film: A Reel Retrospective podcast. As part of our feel good season, Ashley and Gary are joined by Scottish Actor Alastair Rennie to discuss the hilariously silly Step Brothers, directed by Adam McKay.

Synopsis
Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly) have one thing in common: they are both lazy, unemployed leeches who still live with their parents. When Brennan's mother and Dale's father marry and move in together, it turns the overgrown boys' world upside down. Their insane rivalry and narcissism pull the new family apart, forcing them to work together to reunite their parents.

Alastair Rennie's Bio
After getting some lessons for Christmas, he started training as an actor at Acting Coach Scotland in 2014. Alastair had the realisation that acting was something that he really wanted to pursue and furthered his training with private coaching and workshops via Box Rev.

Alastair has went on to work with many talented people throughout Scotland and has appeared in numerous short films such as the award winning 48 hour film "Supermatch" by Jamie Sundance, "Three's Company" by Conor Purvis, "Thursday's Son" by Gary McLellan and "Full Circle" by Alastair Marshall at Slybacon Productions. He has also appeared in TV adverts for Mecca Bingo & Ladbrokes, plays multiple roles in the new podcast "Ian's Gone Postal" and can be seen in the webseries "Dunwith" by Ross Menzies & "Detachment" by Kris Scott.

Alastair has also dipped his toes into the production side of things. He helped to produce, co-write and act in a short film by Sean Friel at Collective Voices Productions. Alastair then went on to help produce a feature length documentary called "Routines" for Collective Voices and most recently the short film "Hunters" by Dylan Green.

During the lockdown Alastair has kept busy acting, working on short film "Captain Lockdown" by Alasdair Shaw. He has continued working closely with Collective Voices Productions to develop a new character, "Man FromBoyé", filming a series of sketches from home and uploading them to their YouTube channel with the hopes of this continuing and expanding once lockdown eases.
