Hey, beautiful and handsome Crazee fans! Would you please buymeacoff.ee/CrazeeChixz

This episode is all about RESPECT! Christy talked last week during two episodes about why our children do not listen to us and how we can help them learn to do so. Today, Daphne talks about RESPECT and what that word means. Respect is not just a word for children, though. Young children learn what they see much more than what they are told. Southern Mom’s are famous for the line, “Do as I say, not as I do!” Well, that’s not actually how it works. Children learn by doing. If you smoke like a chimney and cuss like a sailor but beat your children for doing so, guess what! They are going to do one of two things: 1. Be you when they grow up. Or 2. Hate you and everything about you when they grow up. So, the other half of Southerner’s (and there is some overlap, too) say, “Practice what you preach.” And this is where respect comes in. If you do not respect your child or elderly parent, why in the world would they respect you? Do not do something to someone that you wouldn’t want done to you. If it is for their health, like making them take a medication that they need to save their live or make them better or physical therapy they don’t want to do to make them walk again, that’s not what we are talking about. But, if they are 16 years old in front of their boyfriend and you want to make comments that embarrass them, that’s not showing them respect.  If they are 8 years old and you change their shorts in front of “other sex” classmates, that’s not respecting them. So, at the dinner table when they don’t say sir are yes, why are you surprised?  Show respect. Show respect to other adults in front of your children whether the other adult is there. If you talk bad about a child’s grandmother in front of the child, she doesn’t understand what to feel. She becomes confused and begins to last out.  So, if you are an adult and do not know how to show respect, you need to stand in front of a mirror for 10 minutes a day and learn how to love and respect yourself. Once you’ve done that, please share that respect with those you love.
