085 - Hashtag, Pound, or Octothorp

This weeks's definition lesson:

hash·tag  /ˈhaSHtaɡ/  noun    a word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#), used on social media websites and applications, especially Twitter, to identify messages on a specific topic. [Used by the social media generation]

pound sign  /ˈpound ˌsīn/  noun    the sign #, representing a pound as a unit of weight or mass, or as represented on a telephone keypad or computer keyboard. [Used by most of the shuffle]

oc·to·thorp  /ˈäktəˌTHôrp/  noun    the technical term for the pound sign (#). [Used by no one but the vatos that invented it]

Why the definition lesson? Why not.

Does it relate to the episode? I guess, kind of.

What the..., where is the episode description? Okay... we discuss someone being annoyed by something that may be ridiculous, the use of English words by mexicans (not chicanos). We try to shuffle but it mostly revolves around that.
