On June 4, 2018, the Supreme Court of the United States reversed a Colorado Court of Appeals’ judgment ruling in favor of a gay couple who filed a complaint against Masterpiece Cakeshop. The original complaint was because the owner refused to make a cake for the couple’s wedding, claiming it conflicted with his religious beliefs.
