The Chatting in the Shade podcast covers a myriad of topics so that people can learn, evolve, ask questions, laugh, and share. How else are we to evolve? Had my good friend Tom come to talk on the podcast last week. We went over topics such as modern music, the classics of rock, pop, rap, and many others, and if they were worth listening to. About an hour into the chat, we began talking about whether artists who make good art but do bad things in their personal lives should make us feel guilty for consuming said art. That led to a deeper conversation on politics and prejudices in general. In the end, should we feel guilty for liking Pantera since the vocalist is a racist/nazi? Can we separate the art from the artist? And if we can, should we?
