Welcome to Episode 35 of The Masterclass in association with Sport Social.
This week Haider Rubbani & Rob Blanchette sit down to analyse Manchester United's tactical performance against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-final tie.United will be buoyed by the return of talisman Paul Pogba after his winning goal sent the Red Devils through in the Europa League midweek clash against AC Milan. Ole will be hoping to reach another semi-final against an injury-hit Foxes.
It really was a day to forget for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men. The performance was littered with mistakes and ultimately Leicester punished United for those mistakes. Goals from Iheanacho (x2) and Tielemans was enough to secure Leicester’s first FA Cup semi-final since 1982. Brendan Rodgers’ men fully deserved it.
The only positive for United was the return to goal scoring ways for Mason Greenwood. Having only scored 1 in his last 23, he will be delighted to have broken his duck. He deserved it after some really good performances of late.
Back to the drawing board for Ole and his team. Focus on finishing 2nd and winning the Europa League. Time to recharge the batteries over the International break, it has come at the right time.
