Trauma can be caused by more than mental and physical abuse, PTSD or tragic moments in life. Trauma can happen in much more subtle ways that equally impact our psyche and affect our personal and professional life.
In this episode, Margarita C. Lopez, LMHC, CCTP will teach us about how Trauma You Don't Know You Have Could Be Affecting Your Business.
Margarita is a helper, a rescuer, a restorer. She didn’t just land in psychology either. She endured some of her own traumas, healed them and then set off on a mission to bring safety to others. That’s how her practice, National Therapeutic Alliance was born. Once she defined her purpose, she knew what role she was going to play in the world. Thus, she set off to work as a trauma therapist with a mission to help people learn how to live a fulfilling life post trauma. Margarita believes in a restorative approach to healing trauma. A combination between mind, body and soul healing practices. During her 11 years in the field, Margarita has found that taking a slightly more relaxed approach to therapy helps clients feel more comfortable and helps to build rapport. She aims to have her clients feel seen, heard, understood and most importantly safe. The concept behind her treatment is for clients to achieve a state of “restoration” within themselves and who they are. She states, “my calling is to help people out of the dark”.
