"Covering the Club": Alex Andrejev

A new sports team in the Queen City also means our local media have a new and exciting venture to add to their reporting. On this episode we talk with award winning journalist, Alex Andrejev from The Charlotte Observer about Charlotte FC and her other work, including a splendid podcast series called "Payback".

NASCAR and Charlotte FC beat reporter Alex Andrejev joined The Charlotte Observer in January 2020 following an internship at The Washington Post. She is a two-time Associated Press Sports Editor award winner for her NASCAR beat coverage and National Motorsports Press Association award winner. She is the host of McClatchy’s podcast “Payback” about women’s soccer and social inequities in sport.
