This week’s episode features my chat with Hkam Zahab, a 23-year-old Syrian trapped in Idlib in eastern Syria.

When the war broke out he had just turned 18 and had begun studying law at a university in Aleppo, but the war destroyed his family’s home, his school, and robbed him of his future.

He’s now one of the 12 million displaced Syrians.

Our chat reveals much of the cruel dynamics at the root of this intractable conflict.
