Alexander Betts is the Leopold Muller Professor of Forced Migration and International Affairs, and the Director of the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford. His research is on the politics and political economy of refugees, migration and humanitarianism, with a geographical focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. He is author or editor of numerous books, including Survival Migration: Failed Governance and the Crisis of Displacement
