Dennis Hutter has been the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Mayville State University for the past fourteen season.  Mayville State University is an NAIA school, located in Mayville, North Dakota.  Mayville State competes in the very competitive North Star Athletic Conference.  Coach Hutter has accumulated an overall record of 205-177 during his tenure at Mayville State.  The Comets have had ten winning season of the 14 seasons under Hutter.  Hutter has developed five 1000 point scorers and numerous All American and All-Conference Players.  In the past seven season, is where the Comets have seen the most success under Coach Hutter.  During the past seven seasons, the Comets have accumulated an overall record of 137-60.  Also, during this time the Comets have won two conference championships, have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament twice, advancing to the “Sweet Sixteen” in 2014.  Hutter also has developed two Conference Players of the Year as well, being named NSAA Coach of the Year twice: once in 2014, and the other was in 2019.  The Comets are coming off of another successful year under Coach Hutter.  The Comets finished last season 19-8 overall and 11-3 in the North Star Athletic Conference, which allowed them to capture their second conference championship.  Hutter has been married for 21 years to his wife Missy.  They have four children:  Ali 20, Brianna 17, Jake 14 and Cole 10.
